MATHRUDEEPTHI

The family is both the fundamental unit of society as well as the root of culture. Women are the key part of every family and they are having great responsibilities in moulding and maintaining relationships and the existence of the family.

Mathrudeepthi is a mothers group in our parish to work for the wellness of all families of our community by providing seamless awareness of family establishment in the model of Holy Family.

Our vision is to inspire mothers spiritually and socially and make them aware of their responsibilities to bring up their children to true followers of Jesus Christ and thus grow as one worshiping community.

JESUS YOUTH

Jesus Youth is an international Catholic youth movement with a charismatic spirituality. It had its beginnings in Kerala (India), but is now active in nearly 25 different countries around the world.

Jesus Youth is an initiative of young people themselves, who, filled with the Holy Spirit try to reach out to other young people. The strength of the movement is its special focus on a life centered on the Lord Jesus Christ: beginning with an experience of God nourished by prayer, the Word of God, the sacraments and fellowship, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others.

Though not an actual community, Jesus Youth is a network of small but vibrant groups of young people. In their own life situations, they strive to give time to the Lord, responding to the challenges of today’s world in the power of the Holy Spirit.

SYRO MALABAR YOUTH MOVEMENT (SMYM)

"ToYouth ministry is vital to helping teenagers integrate into the larger, intergenerational community of the church. It resists the status quo, helping the church stay relevant & focuses on inviting those who are not already part of the church into the deeper narrative of God’s plan. This ministry reminds the church that teenagers are not marginalized members of the body, but co-creators and conspirators in the divine work of the church and helps the church focus on the way of Jesus, which goes beyond tradition, dogma, and work. (By Mat Matlock)

Youth events in the Parish of St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Galway strive to provide:

  • A program which helps young people become formed in their faith.

  • Teaching about the Syro-Malabar Catholic expression of Christianity.

  • A means for young people to develop their individual prayer, spiritual life and personal development.

  • Assistance for young people in developing values, ethical norms, and a sense of Christian community.

  • Interaction with adults who authentically model the Christian faith.
